The UK is set to become the first Country to establish a Digital Medicine Research Centre in collaboration with the Chinese Founders of the International Society of Digital Medicine (ISDM). This collaboration agreement was secured by Medilink East Midlands member, David Wortley, who has been appointed as the first President of the European Chapter of ISDM.

This collaboration agreement identifies the East Midlands of the UK as a new European hub of the ISDM and is expected to boost trade, academic and scientific collaboration opportunities for the UK in what is expected to be a multi-billion pound market.

The Founders of ISDM based in the city of Chongqing, China have expressed their commitment to this collaboration in a video on the ISDM (Europe) soft launch web site.

The details of this agreement were announced at the Medilink East Midlands Joint Special Interest Group on 16 November 2016.
