Morningside Pharmaceuticals won the Export category at the Insider Media Made in the Midlands Awards 2022, hosted by BBC Sports Presenter and Strictly Come Dancing Star, Mike Bushell.

The glittering awards ceremony took place at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel, in Birmingham, and attended by scores of innovative and rapidly growing manufacturing companies from the East and West Midlands.

Speaking about why Morningside was chosen as the winner in the Export category, the judges said: “The business has pivoted from one which manufactured other companies’ drugs to one which develops, makes and distributes generic medicines. This has led to major international growth.”

Morningside’s founder and chairman, Dr Nik Kotecha said: “We’re delighted to have won this award, which has been achieved through the hard work and dedication of our people, who work tirelessly to ensure doctors and their patients globally receive the often life-saving medicine they require.

“Morningside is a proud Midlands based manufacturer, distributor and supplier of quality medicines to the UK and international markets. Over the past 30 years, since our inception, we have exported to more than 120 countries.

“The Midlands is the manufacturing heartland of the UK, and we’re truly honoured to be recognised in this way alongside so many of the region’s best and brightest manufacturing businesses.”
