Leading national law firm Mills & Reeve has appointed Alison Ross Eckford and Thilo Schneider as new partners.

Alison joins Mills & Reeve after 16 years at Pinsent Masons to boost the firm’s technology outsourcing offering to private sector clients.

She will work across Mills & Reeve’s London and Cambridge offices to further develop and grow the firm’s technology outsourcing practice, further strengthening the team’s expertise in private sector outsourcing and IT transformation.

Alison has significant experience in advising institutional financial service clients on procuring cloud and digital solutions and contracting with Fintech businesses. She also advises on general business process outsourcing projects in the retail and infrastructure sectors with major UK clients.

Thilo is also formerly a Pinsent Masons corporate partner in London, and will take up leadership of the London corporate team, bringing with him a wealth of transactional experience in the life sciences and technology sectors. Thilo will work closely alongside the firm’s life sciences and technology partners to grow and develop practices both in London, nationally and internationally. Alongside this, he also has an established mid-market general corporate practice.

In addition to his corporate work as an English-qualified lawyer, Thilo is a German national and is ideally placed to bolster Mills & Reeve’s existing relationship with German best friend firm Graf von Westphalen and assist UK clients with navigating the German market, particularly in the corporate finance and M&A markets.

Douglas McDonald, partner and head of the Mills & Reeve technology sector said: “I’m very excited to welcome Alison and Thilo to the team. Their skill sets will compliment and boost our existing national offering in the technology sector and I look forward to working with them to enhance further our reputation as an adviser on strategic technology transactions.”

Alison said: “Mills & Reeve’s technology team has an outstanding reputation nationally. I am excited to join Mills & Reeve and to further accelerate the firm’s specialist service offering to private sector clients.”

Thilo said: “I am excited to take on the task of spearheading the well-respected and ever-growing London corporate team at Mills & Reeve, and look forward to working with the wider technology and life sciences team to build on the firm’s excellent reputation in these sectors”.
