Medilink UK, a membership organisation representing over 1350 medical technology and life-science businesses, is organising a series of free events and webinars to help businesses prepare for Brexit. Time is running out, so businesses are urged to book now to ensure enough time to implement changes within their organisation.
The government maintains that the UK will leave the European Union on 31 October 2019, with or without a deal in place. To ensure life science businesses are prepared for this eventuality, Medilink UK will provide expert guidance and detailed information on behalf of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
The events will help businesses understand the risks and opportunities that Brexit presents. Attendees will hear from experts on regulatory considerations, trading implications, recruitment, legal, intellectual property, finance and export opportunities. There will also be a series of free webinars which are being run from 14 October, covering a wide range of Brexit-related topics for life science companies.
Between 15/10/2019 and 30/10/2019, there will be webinars and events located in Leeds, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff and London. Medilink East Midlands is working with Medilink West Midlands as part of Medilink Midlands, to encourage Midlands life science businesses to attend the Birmingham event. This will be held on 22nd October at Millennium Point, Curzon Street, Birmingham B4 7XG.
Richard Stone, CEO at Medilink West Midlands said: “Conversations I have with businesses in our sector are confirming that many life science and medical technology businesses are not prepared for Brexit and could really benefit from expert guidance and detailed information about both the risks and opportunities. I urge businesses to attend, even if they think they are prepared.”
