It wasn’t long after recovering from last year’s Corporate Challenge that the Medilink East Midlands team decided to enter the 2017 event, with a few extra colleagues taking on the run.

The Nottingham Post Corporate Challenge took place as part of the Robin Hood Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday 24th September, A total of 8 team members came together to form the ‘Medilimpers’; a nickname which many of the team lived up to due to various injuries prior to the day.

However, despite the obstacles and unusually hot weather on the day, the whole team completed the run, and out of a total of 21 teams the Medilimpers came in 10th place.

In addition to achieving a great result, the team were also successful in raising funds for member organisation The Ear Foundation; a local charity which supports children and adults who are deaf or hard of hearing. Friends, family and colleagues all showed their support and the current total raised is £360, plus gift aid.

Dr Darren Clark, Chief Executive of Medilink EM, is a seasoned runner and encouraged as many of them team as possible to get involved in the event.

He said; “As soon as entries opened for this year’s Nottingham Post Corporate Challenge we knew we wanted to give it a go, this time with even more colleagues on board. I’m delighted that we have once again raised funds for The Ear Foundation, who provide a valuable service not only in Nottingham but on a national and international scale.”
