2015 saw Franklands, once again named amongst the prestigious Insurance Age Top 100 list of Independent UK Insurance Brokers. The Insurance Age Top 100 report celebrates excellence within the UK broking market and is recognised as the benchmark of status within the profession.

Franklands is the only Derby based Chartered Insurance Broker listed in the report and our inclusion in the coveted Top 100, demonstrates that our proposition based upon highly qualified staff, the quality of advice and recognising the needs of clients strongly appeals to local companies and professional advisers.

Worryingly, the report also reveals that the UK independent Insurance Broker market is threatened by increased penetration by American owned Insurance Brokers who now control 64% of commercial insurance distribution.

Commenting on retaining our place in this year’s Insurance Age Top 100 report Franklands Director, Paul Brown, said “Maintaining our position alongside the market leaders requires talented people, energy and innovation.  The growth of the American owned Insurance Broker in the UK market is a concern as they don’t have a good track record of a sustained commitment to UK SME businesses.  We will meet the challenge by delivering the same high standard of sound technical advice, expert claims handling and attentive personal service to provide for the insurance and risk management needs of local businesses”
