Thorsten is leading the engagement of the MTC Transformation Team with the West Midlands Health Technology Innovation Accelerator (WM-HTIA). Over the last decade\, Thorsten has worked in a range of sectors\, including biomedical\, healthcare\, aerospace\, defence\, nuclear\, construction\, general manufacturing\, and supply chain improvement.\n\nFlorah Waithaka\, Research Engineer\, Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC)\nFlorah has an MSc in Civil Engineering and Environmental Management and primarily supports research projects in the MTC that fall in the sustainability field. Florah is involved in the West Midlands Health Technology Innovation Accelerator (WM-HTIA) project to develop solutions for SME’s working with the NHS. Kate handles all aspects of UK and European patent prosecution\, including drafting patent applications at the very beginning of the patent process to post-grant opposition and appeal proceedings at the European Patent Office. Kate also has experience conducting IP Audits for clients to identify where their IP portfolios could be strengthened. Kate enjoys working closely with her clients and getting to know their business and commercial needs so that the IP strategy can be tailored accordingly. \n\nMark Connell\, UK and European Patent Attorney – Chemistry Team\, Forresters\nMark’s practice covers metallurgy\, composite materials\, and polymer chemistry\, with a particular focus on adhesives and functional coatings.
