By 2040, nearly one in seven people in the UK is predicted to be aged over 75, with many living with multiple morbidities.
The Blue Zone Consortium (BZC) is a partnership between Nottingham Trent University, University of Leicester and Northumbria University Newcastle, supporting research related to three transversal themes:
- Metabolic health
- Health and ageing across the life course
- Transformative technologies to tackle health inequalities
Their mission is to support inter-sector collaboration to reduce the gap between health span and lifespan.
The event
Hosted at Clifton Campus, NTU, this event will facilitate cross-sectoral networking with the aim of sparking ideas for new collaborations between business and universities to aid the advancement of health and anti-ageing initiatives. The BZC team will share information on the funding opportunity, with a potential £15k available through the Blue Zone Consortium Flexible Talent Mobility Account (FTMA). Intended to support projects that contribute to the mobility and development of researchers, technical professionals across industry, academia and NHS.
