The below is a statement from Medilink EM Member, eg Technology, in relation to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Crisis:

The world around us has changed rapidly over the past few weeks, and it seems as though we will be living in a ‘new normal’ for the foreseeable future. Our number one priority will, of course, remain the health of our loved ones and communities, and we have implemented remote working for our team to allow business as usual whilst minimising face-to-face contact.

We are in the fortunate position of having skills that could help to mitigate the impact of this pandemic. We are therefore reaching out to government agencies and beyond to offer any support that we can give. The fastest and lowest risk approach to meeting the need for large numbers of ventilators is likely to be to start with an existing CE marked design and find ways to simplify it and roll out manufacturing to additional medical-device-capable suppliers. Being ISO 13485 compliant, we are well-positioned to help tackle this challenge.

We invite any medical professionals or businesses including consultancies working in the field of respiratory medical devices, particularly ventilators, to contact us and discuss how we might be able to assist in speeding up the transfer of their designs into manufacture here in the UK. eg technology has an agile team of engineers with extensive experience in designing medical devices and transferring them into manufacture across a wide network of supply partners.

Businesses across the world are part of an extended community, and we will need to support each other during these testing times. If we can help, please let us know [email protected].

Stay safe.
