Disposable Medical Instruments (DMI) is proud to announce the launch of Disposable Medical Instruments (Ireland) Ltd.  Although the company already has several agents in key global markets, this initiative marks the first time DMI has set up an operations base outside the UK, and is evidence of its commitment to embracing everything the European marketplace has to offer.  DMI (Ireland) will have its own offices and director.

DMI (Ireland) has been established in response to DMI’s growing role in the European medical device market: pricing goods and services and accepting payment in euros will make it even easier for other countries to access DMI’s customised packs of single-use stainless steel medical instruments, designed to support healthcare institutions as they look for ways to save money and work more efficiently and safely, ultimately benefitting patients.  It will also enable DMI to extend its endoscope sterilisation and certification service to hospitals in Southern Ireland, freeing up CSSDs to concentrate on more complex instruments.  Initially, preparation of the packs and all packing and sterilisation will be carried out in the company’s UK facility, but in the future DMI may look at rolling out its successful business model – providing cleanroom packing, Ethylene Oxide (EtO) sterilisation and global distribution, all from one site.

“We believe British companies can play a vital role in rebalancing and rebuilding the European economy, showcasing the country’s creative and technological skills in the world-class products we create and export.  At DMI, we believe in putting our money where our mouth is, and our expansion into Southern Ireland is proof of the investment are prepared to make into ensuring we are ideally placed to make the most of what Europe has to offer.”
