Following the success of ABHI’s work in Texas, which has seen a host of companies forge new business relationships and research partnerships, the US Accelerator programme will now target the State of Tennessee.

Taking place from 24th – 29th March 2019, the mission is part of the ABHI’s broader engagement programme, designed to establish deep connections within the largest HealthTech market in the world.

The week-long mission will introduce companies to the leaders from across the highly developed ecosystem, including hospital systems, accelerators, business chambers and professional service companies. It is a prime opportunity for companies to make key connections to support their market entry and drive operations within the US.

Tennessee’s medical equipment and supplies are the State’s largest export, totalling $3.34 billion in 2017. The State’s largest city, Nashville, plays host to 250,000 jobs in healthcare management; with its $39 billion economic impact being four times that of its famed music industry.

The State is supported by world-class research capabilities, including the Vanderbilt University and the University of Memphis, both of whom are investing heavily in their digital healthcare programmes.

Paul Benton, Managing Director, International, ABHI said: “From research partnerships to investment and new business, UK companies are enjoying tremendous success in the US through the support of ABHI. There is something about the American attitude to business and innovation that naturally lends itself to the HealthTech industry, and a real willingness to collaborate and problem-solve has proved fruitful.”

Lori Odom, Vice President of International Business, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, added: “For UK healthcare companies pursing business in the US, the Nashville region is the perfect starting point. Serving as the epicentre of the US healthcare management industry, the ability to connect with influencers and purchasers is unparalleled.”

Places on the mission have already started to be filled and will capped due to demand. For more information, or to join the mission, please click here to email David Phillips at ABHI.
