The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock, has this week written to suppliers of medicines, medical devices and clinical consumables with a progress update on the Government’s contingency planning approach.

This includes an update on changes to cross-Government planning assumptions about potential border delays, should the UK leave the EU without a deal.

The Secretary of State has also written to the health and care system today with updates on:

– changes to Government planning assumptions (as above)
– supply of medicines and vaccines
– supply of medical devices and clinical consumables
– supply of blood and other products of human origin
– supply of non-clinical consumables, goods and services
– workforce
– research and clinical trials
