AdamsonJones, the BioCity-based firm of patent and trade mark attorneys, completed their year of fundraising for Nottingham Hospitals Charity with a Fire Walk on Friday 14 October.

The team of seven colleagues successfully hot-footed it across the coals to bring the annual fundraising total to just under £1,500.

Ann Wright, Records & IT Manager, said “I decided to take part as it was something I’d always thought about doing and it’s a bit different to our usual fundraising runs and bake-offs. The motivational talk we received prior to the walk really helped allay any fears I had and I felt ready for the challenge.”

Nic Ferrar, Director, took a slightly more scientific approach “To give me confidence I thought about the physics involved that make a fire walk possible, for example, the low heat conductivity of the coals and the contact time with the feet.”

This year has seen AdamsonJones undertaking various challenges and events, including the Robin Hood Half Marathon, an Olympic sweepstake, and monthly cake bakes and dress down days, all to raise money for Nottingham Hospitals Charity, which aims to make a real difference to patients through the provision of improved facilities, medical research and staff development programmes.
