Alan White, Managing Director of Fresh Pharma, will be working in partnership with Medilink East Midlands, the life science industry association whose aim is to help companies establish, develop and grow. Alan is the new leader of Medilink EM’s popular Special Interest Group – dedicated to Supply Chain in Healthcare.

The aim of the SIG is to create an environment where academics, clinicians and businesses can meet, learn from each other and explore possible collaborations that will ultimately lead to commercialisation of innovative products and services within the healthcare remit.

Alan, who was recently honoured in the ‘Logistics 100’ as one of the UK logistics industry’s most influential players by the SHD Logistics Magazine, along with the Derby Evening Telegraphs ‘Derby Inspirational 250’, was identified by members of the SIG as an ideal candidate to take the group forward.

Alan commented;

‘It’s really exciting to be offered the opportunity to lead and develop the Supply Chain Special Interest Group, and I look forward to creating many synergies and enhancing capabilities across the East Midlands. Fresh Pharma have been members of Medilink EM for two years now, and were proud to be selected as finalists in the Medilink East Midlands ‘Collaboration with the NHS’ category of the Business Awards for 2016.’

Prior to setting up Fresh Logistics in 2008 and Fresh Pharma (a branch of Fresh Logistics dedicated to the life sciences) in 2015, Alan had worked in the supply chain industry for many household company names, in roles from Logistics Manger up to Site Director. The Fresh Logistics Group was started with seedling finance of £6,000. Today, the company has 40 of the highest specification temperature controlled vehicles, 3 temperature controlled sites nationally and is expecting turnover of £3,000,000 this financial year.

The Supply Chain Special Interest Group events are free to attend thanks to support from the European Regional Development Fund and are delivered by Medilink East Midlands as part of the INSTILS programme – a project part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
