Fifteen of the best Life Sciences companies from across the East Midlands have been shortlisted for the 2018 Medilink East Midlands Business Awards. The awards ceremony and gala dinner will take place on Wednesday 13 June at The Nottingham Belfry.

The business awards celebrate the achievements, breakthroughs and innovations of companies operating or moving into the healthcare, med tech or bioscience sector. Applications are reviewed by an independent panel of judges to select the fifteen finalists, and five companies will be crowned as winners on the night.

The shortlisted companies are:
Start-Up Award, sponsored by Nottingham Trent University
Alcuris, a Loughborough-based start-up developing integrated technological solutions for the global healthcare industry.
N4 Pharma Plc, a specialist pharmaceutical company based in Chellaston which reformulates existing drugs and vaccines.
SurePulse Medical, a medical devices University spin-out based in Derby developing user centred vital sign monitoring solutions.

Export Achievement Award, sponsored by Hospital Aids and Spectrum Healthcare (UK) Ltd
Charnwood Molecular, a research services provider with facilities in Loughborough and BioCity Nottingham.
Pal International, a manufacturer and supplier of single use hygiene products based in Lutterworth.
Suez Water Conditioning Services, a purification and disinfection industrial services and solutions company based in Daventry.

Collaboration with the NHS Award, sponsored by East Midlands Academic Health Science Network
Calla Technology, a creator of body worn cameras and video management software based in Northampton.
Questmark, a Derby-based supplier of video conferencing solutions helping to increase access to healthcare.
Uvamed, a Leicester-based innovative medical solutions company driven by the need to improve standards, working conditions and patient safety.

Innovation Award, sponsored by Potter Clarkson
Ariane Medical Systems, a cancer treatment technology company based in Alfreton.
N4 Pharma Plc, a specialist pharmaceutical company based in Chellaston which reformulates existing drugs and vaccines.
Neater Solutions, a Buxton based manufacturer and supplier of specialist eating and drinking systems for people who have difficulty feeding themselves.

Outstanding Achievement Award, sponsored by Shakespeare Martineau
Datalink Electronics, a contract electronic product design and manufacturing company based in Loughborough.
NuVision® Biotherapies, a regenerative medicine company based in Nottingham.
Quotient Sciences, a global clinical and commercial manufacturing organisation headquartered in Ruddington.

The Business awards will be held as part of Medilink East Midlands Innovation Day; the region’s premier event for the Life Sciences. Innovation Day features a conference with top industry speakers, 33 exhibitors and over 250 delegates are expected to be in attendance.

The event will be hosted by Vivienne Parry OBE, a renowned broadcaster, writer and presenter. With a wealth of scientific knowledge and experience, Vivienne has hosted Innovation Day for a number of years, and holds the event in high regard.
