Current programmes
Designed to help founders discover a scalable business model for their new innovation and get investment ready. The programme is comprised of online events, coaching, peer networks/learning and one-to-one access to a network of leading sector experts and investors.
The West Midlands Health Tech Innovation Accelerator (WMHTIA) is designed to address problems surrounding bringing new technologies to market within the healthcare technology and medical technology sectors by creating a supportive environment to accelerate new technologies towards commercialisation.
The West Midlands Health Technologies Cluster (WMHTC) – delivered by Medilink Midlands, exists to grow and strengthen the region’s health technologies sector. Supporting innovation, investment and job creation across one of the UK’s most dynamic life sciences regions.
Aimed at SMEs in life sciences, health, medtech, digital and high-tech sectors, the project offers intensive innovation support to help companies scale, boost productivity, and reach new markets. Eligible businesses in all Nottingham City wards can apply.
A partnership between Medilink Midlands, The Institute for Precision Health – University of Leicester and Charnwood Campus Science Innovation and Technology Park offers expertise support to individuals or companies already in, or transitioning into, the life sciences, medtech, health tech sector within Leicester and Leicestershire.
The Future Talent Laboratory (FTL) is Medilink Midlands’ pioneering innovation support programme designed to nurture the next generation of talent in the life sciences, medtech, and health sectors. Our mission is to prepare students and postgraduates for life after graduation – equipping them to thrive in their career paths.

Ambitious Essex Innovation Accelerator is a collaborative programme delivered in partnership with Essex County Council. Tailored specifically for pre-startup companies, Ambitious Essex Innovation Accelerator provided the foundational support needed to navigate the initial and often most challenging phase of business development.
‘Arise Beyond Open Innovation for Value and Entrepreneurship’ (ABOVE), was a collaborative programme delivered in partnership with Arise Innovation Hubs, part of Anglia Ruskin University and Essex County Council. The ABOVE programme provided innovation support grants, for up to £5,000, as well as sector-specific events around the themes of health, performance and wellbeing.
