West Midlands 5G (WM5G) has launched a 2-day programme to help healthcare SME businesses in the Black Country and Coventry and Warwickshire region discover the transformational benefits of digital technologies to drive efficiencies and growth.  The interactive Connected Healthcare programme is designed to inspire and equip business owners and those interested in accelerating tech in their business, with the skills and knowledge to apply a range of tech solutions.

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the programme is available to health and care sector SMEs interested in embracing digitisation and improving operations through tech, digitalisation and connectivity. With over 500 businesses already supported, WM5G’s programme is open to all types of qualifying small to medium sized enterprises in businesses in the Black Country and Coventry and Warwickshire areas.

The programme, consisting of 6 modules, will be held on 8th and 15th September, and each day of the programme will bring a range of different speakers, topics and compelling content, setting out why it’s important to stay ahead with all things digital and tech, including the latest in tech use cases including:

  • Stroke Telemedicine Digital Pioneer project
  • Early Diagnosis: Colon Capsule Endoscopy
  • Emergency Response: Hybrid Connex
  • Managing Long term Conditions using Geospatial Intelligence
  • Connectivity to enhance respiratory care

The programme is designed to support business owners and those interested in tech and innovation at all levels, participants don’t need to have a tech background to join the event.

Day 1 of the programme is focused on:

  • Exploring if 5G is right for you and what are the other connectivity solutions
  • Exploring use cases
  • Investigating your connectivity options and discussing current challenges
  • Understanding the NHS Strategy and the implications of the NHS ambitions for connectivity and broader digital developments
  • How do the MNOs see the NHS challenges and what are the connectivity solutions to help your business
  • Hearing from keynote speakers and involvement in panel discussions

On day 2 participants will build on day 1 of the Programme by:

  • Hearing about the NHS strategy and digital direction
  • Hearing from UK5G on its role and activities
  • Introducing the Healthy Living Lab and the Co-creation Methodology
  • Hearing from specialists on the certification and accreditation process in an NHS environment
  • Learning how you can work with Partners to accelerate growth
