The UK House programme is designed to deliver high-level sectoral business events showcasing UK capability and innovation, and to facilitate business connectivity between UK enterprises and both international buyers and investors. On Monday 1 August, the UK House programme focused on “Data Driven Healthcare”. This was followed on Tuesday 2 August with a West Midlands Sector Showcase event.

Forward-thinking and people-focused. Our healthcare system is the jewel in the UK’s crown. The West Midlands itself is no exception, hosting eight hospitals combined with over thirty-five regional centres of clinical research, with one in five of all UK trials carried out in the region.

The region’s Data-Driven Healthcare proposition is built upon four distinct pillars of opportunity: digital, data, diagnostics and devices. With unparalleled access to electronic clinical and genomic data, we have the capabilities to test and implement new healthcare interventions, unlike any other region.

Our unparalleled manufacturing expertise and tech capabilities enable firms to prototype, test and commercialise within the region – bench to bedside.

The five leading universities produce over 11,000 graduates in medical sciences each year and a further 6,000 graduates in the engineering and computing fields. The pool for recruitment continues to grow and become even richer in talent.

All of the sessions from 1 August are available to view on demand here: https://www.events.great.gov.uk/website/7419/datadrivenhealthcare/
